“Anti-Support Unit actions despicable” – Cooriengah outraged
Outrage has been caused across the Republic this afternoon following a display of music and dance by the Support Unit of the High School attended by the majority of Cooriengah’s citizens.
The event is a fairly regular celebration that takes place periodically through the summer months and is a well-received celebration of the activities of the Support Unit whose students all suffer some form of mild intellectual disabilities.
Many partook in this event and according to their teachers is a highly enjoyable event for all involved both performers and observers, which counted most of Cooriengah in its number.
The celebrations were however saddened when it emerged after the event that a select group of non-A1 students had decided to make a mockery of the performances videoing them on mobile phones and uploading them to social media websites such as Facebook and Youtube prompting outrage across the school community.
From the Gypsy Camp, the congregation area of the Republic at the school, the outrage was evident with numerous citizens denouncing the actions of those involved as being “despicable” and “revolting”.
In a statement from the local government the Office of Internal and Governmental Affairs they stated that; “The Cooriengahn Government is disheartened to hear of the events that have followed what was an amazing performance by the Support Unit, counting many friends of A1 in its number.
The actions of these people were highly inappropriate and it is our hope that the school authorities are able to track them down and give out fitting punishments. At this stage we strongly advise all citizens to avoid attempting a personal vendetta by seeking out these videos as you may get caught up in the situation by accident and shall only be giving support to these bullies.
If anyone does have any information regarding the situation they are to speak with the School Authorities in the morning immediately.”
